Terese Bruchwalski Obituary

Terese Mae Albright Bruchwalski died Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in Monroeville after a long illness. She spent her last hours surrounded by her beloved family, especially her husband of 65 years, John. She is also survived by her children, John (Wendy), Susan Szarmach, and Daniel (Pamela), 7 grandchildren Luke Szarmach, Maria Bechtell (Rob), Allison Bruchwalski, Summer Widrick (Trent), Valerie Bruchwalski, Troy Bruchwalski (Katherine), and Casey Bruchwalski, and 4 great-grandchildren Betsy Bechtell, Tessa Bechtell, Wyatt Bruchwalski, and Tucker Widrick.

Terese was born into a very large family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Marie McNally Albright, and siblings, Virgil, Sister Mary Anthony, RSM, Jack (Ann), Howard (Loretta), Eileen Damratowski (Leonard), and Jimmy (Margaret, living). She is survived by her brother Joe (Carol).

A long-time employee in the Gateway School District, Terese is remembered fondly as a lunch lady and excellent baker.

Terese led a joyful life filled with family and travel, love and friends. Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio, is the family’s annual vacation destination, and Terese loved every moment. She and John traveled to Fort Myers, Florida, and Hilton Head, South Carolina, regularly. Where there was water and her beloved extended family, that’s where Terese could be found.

She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loved to attend all of her grandchildren’s sporting events. Terese and John took their granddaughters for weekend softball tournaments and became like part of the team. She also loved every musical moment of her grandchildren’s performances.

Terese was a decades-long member of St. Bernadette parish in Monroeville. She was a strong, spiritual woman, and her Catholic faith was very important to her.

Terese’s family is left with warm, wonderful memories of love, dancing, smiles, and amazing Christmas cookies.
