Gloria Crandall Obituary

Gloria Ann (Mignogna) Crandall, loving mother of two children, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at the age of 94. She was born on February 8, 1928, to Michael and Ann (Manna) Mignogna of Pitcairn, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Pitcairn High School in 1945, and married Theodore (Bud) Crandall in 1954. They raised two children, Theodore (Ted) Crandall and Maria (Crandall) Collins.

Gloria worked for many years in administrative roles for the borough of Pitcairn, Westinghouse Electric, and for 31 years as an executive assistant at General Analytics, Inc, a civil engineering firm.

Throughout her life, Gloria disarmed everyone she met with her openness, her kindness, and willingness to love. She was a confidante to many, not because she kept a good secret, but because she listened with genuine interest and without judgment. She prayed for her family, for her friends, and even those, sometimes, who only needed someone to think fondly of them.

She will be remembered as a woman of faith who gave to everyone, who gave often, and who gave without wanting any recognition; for her combination of good humor and earnestness; for her love of soap operas and football; for her famous meatloaf, her homemade pizza, and fridge forever stocked with root beer; for the sweet sound of her voice on birthdays and anniversaries when she called, every year without fail, to sing.

Gloria was a woman with great class and character. She spent nearly a century in this world, and left it recently with no enemies, no unresolved issues, or ill-will-only a legacy of unconditional love, selflessness, and devotion to family; only with the memory of her beautiful heart.

Mostly, Gloria left behind a blueprint for living the good life, for laughing often at good jokes, for cooking and enjoying a good home-cooked meal, for surrounding oneself with family, love, and a legacy of warmth and good heartedness.

Gloria was preceded in her death by her parents, Michael and Ann Mignogna, her husband Theodore (Bud) Crandall, and her sister Carmel (Richard) Seibert. She is survived by her children, Ted (Ann) Crandall and Maria (Keith) Collins; her grandchildren, Ted M. Crandall, David (Kasie) Crandall, Carli Collins, and Katie (Terrance) Manning; her great-grandchildren, Mia, Calliana, Preslee, and Macklin; and her nephew Rick (Jean) Seibert and niece Andrea Seibert.
