Giuseppe D'Abruzzo

Age 87 of North Versailles, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Beloved husband of 66 years to Consiglia (Melocchi) D'Abruzzo. Loving father of Anna (Kelvin) Pier and Pat (Monica) D'Abruzzo. Proud grandfather of Danielle (Vincent) Incorvati, Natalie (David) Loya, Christina Pier, and Leah (Robert) Gasowski. Great-grandfather of Sabrina, Enzo, and Samantha Incorvati. Also survived by his brother, Antonio (the late Renata) D'Abruzzo; and nephew, Pasquale D'Abruzzo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale and Annina (Mariani) D'Abruzzo.

Giuseppe emigrated from Italy in 1958.  Coming from humble beginnings, he created a successful life here. Beginning his career working for a building contractor, moving up to cabinet maker, he eventually became self-employed as a General Contractor. One of his proudest accomplishments was building several custom homes. His green thumb and love of gardening was appreciated by all who passed by his home.  The landscaping and beautiful array of flowers he so tenderly cared for was like a little Phipps Conservatory.  He was a gentle and quiet soul, but get him talking about the old days and his face would light up as he shared the stories of his years in Italy and the crazy antics of him and his friends.  He was the sweetest little man who was loved by so many.  His grandchildren adored him and will miss him dearly. He always lit up when he saw them, and they just loved telling people about their Nonno.  He lived for his family and would do anything for them.  Upon retirement, he was the best handyman around.

Giuseppe touched so many lives at Point Pleasant where he and his wife lived. The staff at Point Pleasant, Gallagher Home Care, and Bridges Hospice became part of his extended family and they were there when he needed help.  His family is eternally grateful to all of them for the care they so lovingly provided.   

Family and Friends will be received Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 118 Shaw Avenue, Turtle Creek (412-823-1950). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 12, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1313 5th Ave., East McKeesport, PA 15035.
